Number of Years Teaching - 6 years.

Interests and Hobbies - I greatly enjoy the outdoors, especially hiking.  I've also enjoyed traveling and discovering new places in the Mid-South and Mid-West, especially those towns and cities on the major rivers of our great nation.  I've always had a great love of reading books, and have had as much fun finding old and rare Catholic books as reading them.  I especially enjoy the study of Catholic apologetics, philosophy, and history - especially study of monastic orders and their spirituality.

Favorite Book - The Sources of Catholic Dogma (the 1957 version of what is known as 'the Denzinger') is more than just a helpful guide to Catholic doctrine.  To me, it's very nourishing for both mind and heart to drink right from the clean spring of the Church's teaching: I use that work as both doctrinal and spiritual reading.  I also have a great love of the histories of the great Cistercian monastic communities and the writings of their saintly monks.

Favorite Thing About St Robert's - The students at St. Robert's have an especially good spirit, which makes the whole learning process that much more fruitful.  St. Thomas Aquinas says we learn truth in proportion to our good will, and the students and whole community here definitely exhibit that!  I'm very grateful to be a part of the SRBA family.

Favorite Thing About Teaching: To me, the best part about teaching is the excitement of students about a point of truth they pick up in class.  Whether that be a logical truth they finally grasp in math, or a moral truth or personal realization in literature, or maybe an added awareness of our larger national and cultural scene in history, or something which will hopefully lead them to a deeper practice of the Catholic Faith in religion, seeing that understanding, engaging with the material, and being motivated for the better by what they've learned, forms the most rewarding part of teaching.
